if i raise my multiplier (if i can i have a amdk6-2 400 mhz) or fsb without raising the voltage will i then develope more heat?

Yes that will create more heat, but not as much as if u are upping the voltage.

I find running my duron at either 600 or 1000 makes little or no difference to temps if I keep the voltage at 2.32V. Generally, I find a couple of hundred MHz increase will raise temps by maybe a degree or two celsius, whereas bumping the voltage from 1.9 to 2.3 will raise temps by about 8-10C.
