My guess it would have to do with a firewall. If your itching to play halo mp just use the in game browser.

yeah, it's the firewall crapping on you. If you have ZoneAlarm, close everything related to it (zone-crappola that comes with it and stuff, not just the main program. Check in task manager and close everything that's related to it)

Nope I don't have a firewall or any antivirus protection stuff all that is turnd off and I still get that error but theres another computer on my network then can get it to load fine. Game spy used to work great before but then after installing halo it could never seam to connect with the servers so I uninstalled it and then try to download it agian and I got this error

I've had the same problem before too. Are you using a router?

you need to go into ur address to fix, because every router has a firewall, and if you dont use it properly, that might be the reason you cant download something!

I don't think that ALL routers have built in firewalls but most of them nowadays, at least in the consumer sector, seem to have hardware firewalls included.

If you are ever really concerned about security you can use the ultimate in firewall protection though. The Snoop Stopper is guaranteed to stop all unauthorized network access Included in the kit are a ten pound block of clay and some wire cutters. To install you just use the cutters to cut your network connection to the outside world then insert each end of the cable into opposite sides of the block of clay. Voila! Instant unbreachable security!
