right now i have a 2.6C overclocked to 3.4 (FSB up to 260). I am currecntly using a 512mb Cosair DDR400 with a CL of 2.5. In order for it to be stable i need set the divider lower so the memory runs at 354Mhz and i need to set the timings lower.

Now i'm thinking if i get DDR533 i won't have to set the divider lower and the Memory will run at up to 533 without having to adjust the timings and that the default memory timings will be fine to support my Overclocked CPU.

and does a lower latency make the memory run faster at all? I had mine set at 3.0 at first and overclocking wouldn't work unless i set it down to 2.5. i'm kind of worried getting memory thats only rated at 3.0. So in this situation does it matter that i get a 2.5 over a 3.

anybody know what i should do??? thanks in advance.

Im not sure i understand your question but... what i think your asking is "Does it matter if i get 2.5 over 3.0" well 2.5 is faster than 3.0 im not quite sure why your computer would not run stable at 3.0 but would run stable at 2.5 but i would be happy because 2.5 is faster. Sometimes ram doesnt like its cl being underclocked but i dont see that as a bad thing cuz who would want thier ram to be slower...

i'm saying i want to get better memory so i can run it faster. now for one i am worried that CL 3.0 didn't work well with my current memory while overclocking and i'm not seeing any DDR533 thats 2.5 or lower. so given a DDR533 CL3 or a DDR500 or lower thats a CL2.5, what would be a better choice. thanks
