I have just bought an IC7.

When ever I switch off my PC and remove power I lose my CMOS config. (Goes to default)

I checked the battery and it is only 0.3v (Should be 3v). The CMOS jumper is in the correct position.

I will go and buy a new battery today.

Is this just a case of a dead battery or is some thing draining it very quickly. As I said the board is new.

Thanks

I know you said that the CMOS jumper was in the correct position, but I would triple check that if I were you. I once cleared the CMOS and put the jumper back on wrong. It would not hold the BIOS settings either, until I figured it out and corrected the situation. A good CMOS battery should last at least 5 years, but it's always possibly to have a defective one.
