Hi all....new to all this and was hoping for some help.

Just got a I-Will 266 DDR motherboard, and a 1.2Ghz Thunderbird.

At the moment my pc tells me its a 900MHz, so how do i get it up to speed, and how do i overclock it?

Any help appreciated.

For some reason when you first boot it boots at 100 fsb. (9x100=900) restart the computer and hit delete to get into the bios, change the fsb from 100 to 133, then go to exit, and save changes. When it restarts it will be at 1200. (9x133=1200). Once you get there let us know.

Excellent....cheers.
Running at 1.2 now

So how do i overclock?
And is there any software you can recommend to check the speed my pc is running at, as well as the temp? (preferably free off the net).

Thanks

Here is a good O/C how to:

Here is a KA266 O/C article;

Here is a good utility for CPU and Temps;

There is also the Hardware Monitor on the Iwill CD.

For some software to see the speed and anything you will ever need to know about your processor, get this program called

sisoft sandra.....sorry don't have a link. Or you can use this program.....wcpu30b....here is the link.....

For overclocking, raise you fsb, or change your mulitplier. Try raising your multiplier to 9.5/10.
