View Full Version : Best stepping for a Barton 2500+?
Hey Guys,
Thought I should try out the Bartons, ofcourse I'm gonna clock it.
I would get it only if I can get a nice stepping.
Can you guys give me a little list (3-4 positions) of the best steppings out for the 2500+.
Thanks!
Suma.
anyone?
atleast post some resaults with yours and add the stepping.
thx.
well I just took out a 0329 aqxea xpmw stepping which frankly was pretty disapointing 2350 was the highest I got it even @ 2v watercooled. I just put in a aqzfa 0340 upmw stepping and its happily chugging away @ 2.4 @ 1.75v I'll prime it in a couple of minutes but its much better thatn the other stepping. I believe the aqzea is also supposed to be good.
thx, I'll be happy if you can keep me/us posted.
Well looks good so far after 20 mins of prime 44c on die temps, thats nice and cool. I'll test all night i bet 2.6 will be possible.
Cool man.
I might do a little store seeking for those.
Suma.
I'm @ 2.5 @ 1.95v 30 mins so far prime stable. highest barton i've gotten so well see my mobo maxes@ 2.0v 2.6 is questionable on 2v but might be possible.

With the Bartons, doesn't best usually mean latest?
its pretty much that way with all chips. As newer steppings are produced amd finds little changes to make the cores run cooler faster on less voltage, which is why newer steppings generally do better than earlier ones.
I can get this for a nice price:
AXDA2500DKV4D
AQXFA0327MPMW.
what do you think?
Its older than the aqzfa stepping but it might do well.
hmm I might get the chance to test one of this in the store.

Thnak you in advance for your time
