This might sound stupid, but do you have your monitor plugged into your video card?

The chip might be bad, try talking to your seller.

well, basic troubleshooting suggests:

Put in the original CPU and try it again.

Check the power supply voltages.

Check your motherboard manual to see if there's a key to hold down during power-up to boot with default settings. On mine it's the Insert key.

Disconnect other things and try the system. You only need the mobo, video, monitor and keyboard to test boot the basic system (at least into BIOS).

Did you say you tried the CPU in a different system, or a different CPU in your system?

i put my original CPU back in and it worked fine, i tried a duron 800 out of another system and it worked, and i put the duron 900 in the 800, system and it didn't work

Well how many beeps does it make. Depending on the number of beeps it will tell you what kind of problem it is. You can check your motherboard manual to find out. I think it is just a bad chip.

there are no beeps

Could it be that the multiplier is set wrong in the bios?

try resetting the bios and see it it'll fire.

i don't think i have changed an of th multiplier setting, so shouldn't it be set at there default settings?

Well if you haven't unlocked the duron yet if you still have the default settings then it is likely it will not work. Reset your multiplier jumpers (or whatever) and try again.

Normally when it says no signal the monitor isnt plugged in..like someone else said. also did you move your RAM around any? if it isnt in slots 0-3 instead of just in 3 or just in 2 it wont boot up at all...or if its in backwards it heats up REALLY fast.
