View Full Version : AMD 1200 not overclocking well HELP
I've tried Overclocking my Cpu but have problems over 1260, I 've had it up to 1350 but when I try to restart it it won't reboot, I wait a few min. then it will work again so I can change it back. My temp. is ok, it hasn't been over 45C yet and my Vcore is at default 1.77V. Do I have to change my VIO1 2.7V default or the VIO 3.30V default? And looking at the manual the Vcore only goes up one more setting to 1.85/1.825V. I want to OC the best I can being stable and under 50C can someone give me some tips and advice about raising the voltage, I am a newbie at this but want the best performance. And also on my vid card I see alot of posts that people with the ultra's raise there memory clock from 460 to around 500 to 530, I raise mine to about 510 to 520 but I'm afraid to check the box that say's start computer with these settings in case the comp doesn't reboot afterwards, any advice on this.
Thanks
I wouldn't mess with the VIO voltages but you could raise the Vcore voltage to the next step up 1.85 volts. That should relieve the instability problems your having when you run the speed up. Just watch the temps though. I'm sorry but I cant help you with the vid card stuff as I have a crappy card and it wont do anything over the norm so I have no experience with that.

if you are afraid to raise your video card to that much, raise it to 480 or something and see if that works it should be stable for that card.
raise your vcore and try to o/c as tt120 said but really keep an eye on your temps, if you already dont get motherboard monitor 5 here: http://www.tweakfiles.com/diagnostic/motherboardmonitor.html ..what are your temps right now?

Use Powerstrip to overclock your video card couse you won´t have to restart for the new settings. So, no risk that your PC won´t boot up or anything. Raise your vid speed in small steps and test them out . You could use 3D Mark for this task....
Good luck!
By the way..a little more voltage for the CPU won´t harm anything..just keep a close eye on your temps.
