AXIA 'Y' Duron at 1.4Ghz

I got this chip to 1.4GHz at default Vcore and ran Prime95 just fine.

OK, but it's really wierd! During the BIOS boot up screen, it displayed as AMD Duron Processor xxxxMHz.



Then I try to run WCPUID, this is what I got (I o/ced it to 1.33Ghz):

What!?! TBird with a Duron name string and 128Kb L2?



Please help! I don't want a Duron 1.4GHz but a TBird 1.4Ghz!!!

I know this is rare, but I want the other 128Kb L2 and a Athlon Tbird!!!

Forgot to add that this is on a Abit KT7A with the latest 3C BIOS (updated it from ZT but no difference).

Anyone know what's the problem? *_*

I upgraded my KT7A from YH to 3C Tuesday night. No noticeable changes in performance or behavior, but when I get home, I'm gonna see what CPU ID says my processor is. That is truly interesting. Congrats on your chip. I noticed the L1 traces are not cut. That's nice!

Why don't you return it to the shop where you bought it for exchange of another one within 7 days. Isn't it the rule (informal) of the computer shops in Hong Kong that they are willing to exchange goods (normally hardward) sold but problem found within 7 days?

Are you sure its a Duron? Have you looked to see what it says on the CPU's core?
