Hi

guys Im working on a machine for my friend :
p4c 2.4 on a asus p4p800 with kingston pc3200 ram (value)

ok now I cant get it to run 250 fsb and 400mhz on ram :( so I had to cut it to 320 on ram (if I put it on auto it drops to 266)
now when I boot its all good and dandy (at 320, at 400 it says checksum error please insert floppy :) ) and the cup-z says the ram is actually at 400, which would be great if I believe cpu-z, should I ? :)

my pc marks are: cpu 7264
ram 7450
at stock speed and ram 400 in bios it did - 5826 cpu and 6533 on ram

Thanks
Dan

The "320" setting is th 5:4 ratio, and the "400" is 1:1 mode. They only translate to those speeds at the default 200fsb. Stupid Asus bios.

Running "320" you are running 5:4 with your 250fsb, meaining the ram is indeed running at 400MHz. cpu-z can be very wrong, but it is right this time.

Your memory scores are very low for this motherboard. Do you have two memory sticks? It doesn't look like you are running in dual channel mode.
