I have two burners and I've been wondering if I can burn two discs at once. Here's the setup:

IDE 1: 120GB Seagate Barracuda
IDE 2: DVD+RW/CD-RW (4x DVD+R, 40x CD-RW) set as Master, CD-RW (48X40x48) set as Slave

Do you guys think I could burn files from the single Barracuda hard drive using both optical drives simultaenously or would my IDE channel be data saturated beyond that ability?

Could be since your only using a single seagate hard drive, it might be able to handle it.
Both your writers are fast.
Best way to check is to use a couple of re-writable cd and do some testing, it won't hurt to.

IDE only allows one device per channel to be use at any one point in time. So if you try to use both on one channel, odds are you will get errors / buffer under run. But if you had another IDE say from a PCI card you could do it but remember that both writers will also be tanking off the same HDD and this could conflict as well.

Well, I tried it and it took seven minutes to burn two CDs. The buffers were under-running (thank God for burnproof). I'm going to move the Barracuda to the free SATA channel using the adapter that came with the board then move the DVD+RW to IDE1
