my sound card doesn't work! LoL. I know it works, i tested it out in my older BF6. I put in back in the A7A266, and when i boot into windows, to install the drivers it works fine. Then after it installs them, right before it asks me to restart, BSOD. I tried all pci slots. Is there some kind of a setting i can try?

BOOOHOOO!!! I want to listen to my MP3's now!

I had a similar problem when I first attempted to overclock my celeron. I am not sure what is the problem...but I think I narrowed it down to when I had to clear the CMOS because of being over zealous. When I did this all the boards defaults came back. Now I am going to mess around with the BIOS to turn off the on-board sound. I can hear MP3's fine....it is just some movies and video games that it doesn't work right.

You're fsb is probably where the problem is. 154MHZ puts your PCI bus way over spec and the soundcard probably doesn't like it. Just for testing sake, try 7.5 X 133, that will give you a gig and just see if the problem still persists. Good luck

I tried it at 650mhz 6.5 X 100! Still no good. I reformatted, and it still did it. Tried all pci slots still did it.

I look into my bios and thought maybe there was a problem there. I saw this thing that said onboard pci audio...enabled. I thought o, maybe that was the problem. WRONG. Same thing? What is going on here? Is my soundcard/modem not compatable with amd's? It worked in every single other intel motherboard i have had!

AHHHHH!!!! I am sooo fustrated! I really don't feel like buying another sound card/modem just beause it doesn't work!

Thanx for your replies.

Do you have another sound card available just to try out in your box to see if it will work? Try the onboard sound and see if that works.

either your bios needs to be reflashed to the latest bios or you need aa soundblaster 5.1

I had a similar problem with this board and my soundblaster platinum. I fixed it by reverting my bios to the version my board came with, which was 1.03b

I had the sound card for about 2 years. I didn't put it in, just in case it would limit my overclocking. So what i did, was i put it back in, after i had found a stable overclock.

Right now i am running @ 1001, perfectly stable and my sound card works now! The only problem is, it won't shut down properly. It doesn;t shutdown,. What i had to do was instead of restarting after i got the BSOd, i had to hit spacebar so i got back to windows. Then my mouse didn't work, so i had to use the keyboard to navigate. then shutdown the computer properly, and then restart. After that it works perfectly! I have yet to experience a problem!

Thanx for all you guys help!
