Well the time has come for me to pick up my 2.8C and now i need to know a mobo which would work best with it. im just copying my last post here cus it has the specs that i would like it to have. If it doesnt have all thsoe specs, then its ok i guess, i cant have everythign right? But i would like suggestions please.
Also, if anyone could get me the heads up on a type of ram which i should pick up for what specific boards, then that would be cool. ( the RAM i can get at local dealrs are the OCZ, so i might pick those up. Nothing two expencive, but PC3500 or up. either two sticks of 256 or 2 sticks of 512
Thanks
PS. Which would probably give me a better OC, a high end Asus or the Abit IC7-Max3 ?
I am looking to get a new board for a 2.8C chip which will last me through the many changes of next year. it has to have Serial ATA (RAID would be a plus but not nessasary ) gigabit LAN, 8x AGP, audio, firewire and usb2.0, it also has to be a good overclocker because i am hoping to get this chip running at 3.2+, and also the PCB cannot be beige/green in colour, it needs to be coloured ( like gigabyte boards which are blue ) since i have a window in my case.
The board should be midranged.
somewhere under $200 Canadian
Something i was looking at is the Abit IS7-G but would like other opinions aswell plz.
I will be getting the board sometime after the intel chip price drop ( Oct 26th ) and i will also be getting new memory at that time aswell.
So any suggestions would be appriciated.. thanks!
