Well for all I know I was just left in the dark and everyone may have known this but just in case, I have my system at 1366 , it has been that way for nearly a month , ok , I reformatted and reinstalled windows and kept getting lockups after Windows booted ,I dropped down to like 90fsb to get my system stable, I took apart my pc , cleaned everything in it to no evail? I then started to play with every setting in the bios that would let me , I disabled the ACPI function in my bios and wala , it works again , after I did this windows redetected my hardware and all but thats it , its running fine at 1366 again , so if people with your same setup are doing much better then you or you are just haveing major lockups , this is a must try , please bump

Did you attempt to install Windows while still overclocked ?
from my experiences you are best to install Windows at the default CPU speed and voltage otherwise the chance of errors increase

Are there any side effects at all from the disabling of your ACPI? My BIOS has this option but am weary of doing it because I am not sure if WinME thrives on this option or not. What version of Windows are you running and what motherboard?

well winme is what I have , all it will do is install its own plug and play bios and reinstall all of your hardware , you cn always go back and undo it if yoa want

OMG! I've never heard of it, any good? I just might try disabling my ACPI, does it still shut off the comp when you shut-down?

yes , it still shuts down but takes away the stand by and hibenate features away but I have an always on setup anyway , you can always just undo these settings , one it loads whatever drivers it does I think they stay their

Let me get this right... Do not OC CPU when clean install a new OS and disable the ACPI (what is that anyway?) Is that the option for standby mode and shutdown, etc... If so, then I will disable it, cuz I never use that anyway.

ACPI, according to my Gigabyte GA-7ZX motherboard manual's glossary, is "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface." I'm not sure what specifically that means, but from the other fields in the BIOS, it looks like that allows you to play with the Config and power setup in the BIOS itself, such as having the BIOS shut down the PC when the processor reaches a certain temp, like mine does. More than that, I don't know.
