Im fairly new to overclocking and these fourms but have been reading these posts alot lately and I have a question about core voltages. The TB's ppl talk about ocing usually have a vcore of about 1.8 volts and everyone sez that they should have at least a 350 watt psu. I have a k63 450 @2.4 volts and bump it up to 2.6 when trying to oc to 550. That is almost a 1 volt difference and im only running a 250 wat psu with 2hdd's and 2 cd roms with 8 fans.
My psu must be screaming for mercy! and that could be the reason that when it is oced to550 it is un stable after a while

What do you think?

I wouldn't worry about your power usage. The K6-3 processors use way less power then a T-bird even though the voltage is a bit higher. 2.4v is the stock voltage for your chip so even 2.7 is ok with great cooling.

I donīt think itīs a voltage problem. I would say It is more likely to be a temp problem when your system becomes unstable after a while. The 2.6 Volts could also not be enough for the quite big overclock you are planning. Those K6 IIIīs scream for voltage.
Good luck..
By the way what do your temps say?

Probably not a voltage problem. According to Radiate, your CPU is using around 60 watts. If you want to know for sure if the PSU is a problem, disconnect all your fans (other than the necessary ones of course) and CDROMs and other unneccessary devices, boot it up, and try to make it crash. If it doesn't, then you're right, if it does, then it's some other problem (most likely heat).

**NOTE: you might want to open your case and use a house fan or something to cool the stuff if you unplug all your case fans. Just dont use one that's plugged into your PSU, as that is what you're testing.**

Porvided that you have a good cooler - do not be afraid to push 2.8v in order to reach your goal.
