View Full Version : Will a burn-in lower cpu temp?
i was wondering if i used sisoft sandra burn-in wizard over night or so would it lower my cpu temp? cause right now my cpu runs really hot around the high 5x or and sometimes 60ºc at max for load and around low 5x for idle temp. cause until I can go get a new HSF i have to stick with my overheating computer that alwas freezes. well i was just wondering. thanx for the input. o and o forgot to say those temps are for a 1.333ghz

I don't think that I would run a burn-in until you get those temps lowered. I don't think that it will help lower your temps as it never has for me.
Good Luck
o ok thats fine..........*cries* lol thanx for the input though :)

It could help your temps, as after burn in, you might be able to lower your voltage a bit, which would indeed lower your temps.

Hiya,
Ranger is right, Or right in my case.....
Did a T-Bird 750 Burn-In and volt mod on an Asus A7v
Had vcore at 2.4v 750@1.1 then after more Burn-In i could drop it to 2.1v and she ran like a dream at almost the temps it was at stock 750 :)
Some argue for/against Burning but as i stress it worked in my case
Happy OC'ing

arg im kinda a noob at comp settings so i wouldnt know how to lower my voltage and how low to go with them without screwing up my computer. and if i was to oc the computer would i have to raise the voltage? cause if so then ill just wait till i get a new HSF on so i dont have to mess anything up. thanx for the input so far i hope to get more
