Hey, I have a radeon 9700 pro and am currently running dual monitors. I want to run three :D! I pulled a Trident PCI card out of an old machine...the card says its from '94. Anyhow, it defaulted the PCI card as the main one, so even though I was getting a signal (monitor lights were green, not amber) I could still only see picture on two monitors. Besides the fact that the video quality was very poor (assuming since it's from 1994) there was still just two boxes representing monitors in the system properties. Do I just need a little bit better of a PCI card? Has anyone had sucess running 3 monitors with a 9700 pro? Thanks.

I'm just gonna sneak in here and tick you off with some Q's :D
<sorry>
I've been out of the tech loop for almost a year now... so forgive my ancient ways. Does your system... as a whole... allow for running two vid cards in that manner? And of course... do the radeon drivers allow for what you're attempting?
Again I'm sorry as I haven't answered your question.

Yes, this is allowed. Windows will generally just pick up another driver no problem. I cannot however, because I learned that Windows only supports three display devices. My video card counts as two as it is dual outputs. And my TV tuner card makes the thrid. So instead of running three monitors (my 19" and two 15") I just purchased another 19" to run just dual.
