View Full Version : 13k 2001, 5560 2003...make sense?
GF4 scored 11k in 2001
5900 scored 13k in 2001
Not THAT big of a difference..
GF4 only scored like 1800 in 2003
5900 scored 5560 in 2003
I imagine this is a much bigger jump....
Besides my CPU being only at 1.9, what else would be effecting my 2001 scores?
Honestly..I dont play many games, but I might now they look so good :)

well first off 3DMark2003 runs tests that your GF4 wont support, thus your DX9 capable GFFX will score a much higher margin.
Alright, but my question is why my 2001 scores are so low...my 2003 scores are ok aren't they? Are both my scores really low???

No your scores look about standard for your hardware. Some tweaking will yeild better, but overall, I'd be looking at the 3do3 scores, the 3d01 are just about obsolete. You didn't mention which drivers you were using either, the 52.16's will help the upper end some. I 've ran 16,751 in 01 and a 6932 in 03, and quite satified with that. On a clean install newly fragged and all i did hit 17, 282 in 01 and 5942 in 03, but that was on the 44.90 drivers. As you see with the 52.16's I took a slight hit in the 01 scores, but gained in the 03's, which i understand will be a better benchmark for the upcoming games. Party on!
looks about right for 1.9Ghz.
if you were running your CPU at 2.4G, you'd see roughly 16k.
ahhh alright, I had a 2.4, but thats gone now :( hehe...soon I should have another 2.4 :)

and if you had a p4 EE overclocked to 4.469 ghz you would almost get 30k....jk:p
lol yeah I saw that...I'll stick with AMD. I am sure that CPU cost more then $60 :)

PE's have been tested, and are significantly slower than the AMD 64bit line anyways. Plus, those are all very expensive processors :).

True...honestly I dont play games like MAD..I am getting another 1700+ soon from a friend. Hopefully I will have 2.4ghz. I am getting the 1700+ and a SCSI RAID card for $50 ;)
that is an awsome deal!
look for Fujitsu MAM series 15,000rpm 36GB drives for around $110 each and you'll have a blazingly fast storage system.
I already have the Seagate 68pin 18GB 15k U320 scsi :)
If I get one more of those..they already have a seek time of what? 3.2 or 3.6MS? Bandwith..320 x2 in raid...
;)
I know the guy, the RAID card needs to be reflashed, he got it from a guy who tried to flash and upgrade the BIOS..so no clue if the scsi card will even work..but I am getting another 1700+ from it too so its all good :)
