Ok I'm an Intel guy and I'm going to build an AMD box to how the other side lives. I now nothing about ADM's so whats the best cpu/mob. It will be Overclocked to the fullest.

i don't really know too much, but since nobody else has replied to your message yet I might as well take at it. I am using a 1.4 chip right now, but I was just reading in another area that a 1.333 Ghz with the AYJHA core performs quite well, and Bender suggested a 1.2 because they are pretty cheap. I think the motherboard of choice on here for overclocking the is Abit KT7-Raid card. I have switched to AMD for my last couple computers and I couldn't be more pleased, especially for the cash it has saved me... :-)

It will depend on how much money you have to spend, but I here good things about Epox 8K7A boards as well as IWILL KK266. I have an Abit KT7A-Raid and love it.
For the chip I'd go with a 1gig AXIA or AYHJA model. You have to specifically look at the top of the chip for this code to get it. These overclock better than other models. It's no uncommon to see 1gig AXIAs hitting 1.4gig.
Good Luck, AMD ROCKZ!

My budget.... it's lets say, is adequate or not a issue.

Ahhhh, independantly wealthy (heh). Then I'd go with a DDR board like the IWILL and a 1.4Gig AYHJA Athlon and about 256MB of DDR Memory from Crucial. Add a nice 80 gig 7200 RPM HDD and a 64MB vid card and you're rockin' and rollin'.

That's the kinda answer I was looking for. Have the vid card, don't need an 80gig HD. I run a network in the house with a server a a 64gig raid.
What do you think about Kingston instead of Crucial? (Kingston Fan)
Whats an AYHJA?
Iwill kk266
amd athlon (ayhja) 1.33 ghz
thermoengine heatsink with delta fan
2 120 mm fans if possible
good 400watt psu
A/S2
256mb of pc133 ram or pc150
nice fast /big HD
and a good gulp of mountain dew :) alcohol = bad : caffine = good

An AYHJA is a certain stepping of the Athlon cpu. Cpu's have different steppings or production groups that are known to overclock differently. The AYHJA stepping overclocks very well. Also, get the 8k7a. With the 1/5 PCI multiplier you can go to 180mhz on the FSB. Make sure you get PC2400 memory if you're o/cing the FSB. It's more expensive, but more stable at overclocked FSB speeds. Congratulations ahead of time for moving into the world of modern computers ; )

Read the article on the front page by Ed. It is talking about what to or not to by in P/C parts. Good read.
As to the best bang for the buck.

256mb Crucial PC-2100 DDR ram
1.33 T-bird w/ 266FSB
Millenium Glaciator w/ Delta fan

Here is a pic on the stepping codes stepping pic (http://forums.overclockers.ws/forums/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Read&BID=4&TID=11934&P=1&SID=80684#ID10)
Also here is another on the overclocking shootout of two AXIA's (one with a Y and one with a 9) and 2 AVIA's (one with a Y and one with a 9) shootout (http://www.athlonoc.com/tbirdshootout.php)

Very good choice. I would try out the Epox simply because of the insanely high bus speeds you can use with it. What's the limit is it 200 or 250. A few people are within spitting distance of 200 with that board. Wild_andy_c is at 183 with his. If you have the dough go with a 1.33-1.4 but I'll save my beans and try a 1.2 for $100. Hopefully I will be ordering 4-5 1.2s and I will get to chose which one I like best out of the bunch for my system

Can you order cpu with AYHJA stepping or do you need to go to a computer store and physically look at the code to find one?

OK this is what I have:
A1200AMS3C
AXIA011SCPAW
95263450347
128mb PC2100 DDR
The place I got this from didn't have any mob's that I like. They had some ASUS mob's But I have two of them and wanted something more flexible. Suggestion?
Iwas also thinking Swiftech 426 hsf..

Some online retailers will let you specify an AYHJA but they'll charge you a premium. If you goto www.pricewatch.com and do a search on AYHJA you'll see what I mean. I'd goto a local computer store or even better a computer show to get the AYHJA code. You'll have to look at the chips for the code.
