Alright, i closed the L1 bridges on my t-bird axia and i placed it all perfectly on my A7V133 motherboard. When i boot u, rather than checking all teh IDe devices, it goes into BIOS and says that i have an improper CPU speed setting. The problem is that i accedentally connected a few of the L1 bridges!!!! How do i remove the ones i did in lead pencil? I used an erasor but that does work! It is now smeared over all the bridges!!! HELP! HELP!
How do i remove the L1 bridges that i connected so that it will go back to normal?!?!?!? Can i use water? HELP! is there anyway to remove the connections without buying anything?!?!?

I'm not sure if this will clean it, but I'm nearly 100% positive that you can use Acetone or Isopropyl(sp?) Alcohol on the ceramic of the CPU without risk to harming the processor. I'm pretty sure because I accidently applied too much arctic silver, and spent about a half hour trying to clean it off with first one, then the other chemical mentioned above. (Cleaning it off the ceramic, that is)

Don't put acetone anywhere near a CPU die !!!!

I wanna know if the L1 bridges unlock the multiplier? Do the L1 bridges control the multiplier? Cuase what happened was, when i accidentally connected some of the bridges, and then when i booted up it said on startup that i had a 800Mhz CPU, and rather than load, it would take me to BIOS and say "in order for the system to run stable, you must input the correct FSB and multiplier for you CPU". Then i would shut down, take out the CPU, fiddle with it, put it back in and start. And know when other bridges were connected together(from the 4 L1 bridges), it said i had a 700Mhz CPU...i would constantly restart the comp and on startup it would continuously say i had a 700Mhz CPU and would take me to BIOS. Then, i used an erasor and erased all the pincil marks for 20 minutes. Now it looked as though there wasn't any pencil marks at all. Then i re-closed all the L1 bridges and loaded up and IT WORKED! So how do i KNOW FOR SURE that my t-bird is at 1ghz, and not o/c to 1ghz? Cause when it would take me to BIOS, i used to continouslty change multiplier back to 10x. But whenever i changed it back to 10x from 7x, it would go back to BIOS...

If it helps any try a different eraser, really. I had the same thing happen and i used an eraser and it came right off.

that sounds like you have an MSI mptherboard. Mine does that sometimes and I just shut the powersupply off and then back on. It will correct itself. This is just on solution to your probs. Good Luck

Try some denatured alcohol to clean the pencil off your chip. Zippo lighter fluid also works. Also, try clearing your cmos, that might clear up your multiplier problems.

I got that off already. I just used an erased and stood there erasing for about 10minutes. After erasing, rather than testing it out again, i just re-closed the L1 bridges, then testing it and it worked...i think. Il have to do a few more tests...thanks

How do i know if all is right? How do i know that my CPU is not overclocked cause when it didn't work, the multiplier was always set 7x, and i kept changing it to 10x. How do i know that all is right?
