Ok, without going to deep into the story behind this, I am building a computer for a poor family. I am using the only parts I have and can't really afford too much right now. Here's the deal, hot 591P shuttle mobo, 400mhz amd cpu, 128 meg pc100 ram, 4 meg generic video card, isa sbgeneric sound card. I cannot get this damned thing to run at 100mhz system bus and have stepped it down to run the cpu at 360. With that setting, the pci bus is at 30mhz and the system bus is at 60mhz. I have the latest bios per spacewalker.com. Can I increase the multiplier from 4 to 4.5 or 5 to speed up the cpu since it is a 400?
Thanks in advance!

CPU speed is determined from Multipler x FSB. So you can adjust that. Don't go over 400 though as K62s are natorious for becoming unstable when overclocked.

Ok. So what your saying is that I can increase the multiplier without increasing the core voltage? Or the FSB? The FSB doesn't seem to want to go over 90 mhz on this board. Becomes unstable after that. SO I guess what I am asking is can I change the multiplier settings without changing anything else thereby increase the cpu's performance?
