New pc please help with oc

Hi i am building a new pc. i am looking at the asus P4P800 Deluxe and the abit IC7-MAX3 . I am going to get a p4 2.4c processor. I also need to know what the best type of memory for either of these boards is. I would like to overclock this chip as much as possible. hopefully passed the 3.0 ghz mark. can someone please help me i reallyt need it.

Are you planning on getting better cooling for the processor or stick with the Stock cooler?
