The last components to my new system come Tuesday. My system specs are:
P4 2.8C
Zalman 7000cu
Asus P4C800-E
Mushkin Level II PC3500 2X512
Maxtor Serial 120GB
WD 120JB X2 RAIDed
Antec 430 TruePower

I'd like to go over my OC steps.

1. Update Bios
2. Load WinXP Pro
3. Load Windows updates
4. Load Intel Chipset Software Utility
5. Load ATI drivers and other drivers
6. Load Temp monitor (Asus or MBM?)
7. Lock AGP and PCI in BIOS
8. Set memory to 2-3-2-6.
9. Set fsb to 230, check for stability
10. Set fsb to 250, check for stability
11. Above fsb 257 change to 5:4 memory timing

What have I left out? What advise can you give me?

Thanks
KV

It seems to me like going from 200MHz FSB to 230MHz is a big jump. I don't really know if every single P4C can go over 230 MHz FSB easily, but you may want to start your OC under 230, like at 205 ->210 ->215, etc.

I was using some Corsair PC3500 (DDR433) and on the P4 2.4c it stopped at about 223 on the canterwood chipset (875p) but with tight timings and 2.8 vdimm 2-3-3-6. HMM i do think it will be difficult for you to hit 250 (1000fsb) its not easy. One or two things will get in the way .... CPU or Memory

Oh and you must of posted this in the wrong place. AMD ASUS BOARDS here.
