is the RAM clock 1 to 1 with the FSB?
can i run my RAM on 166MHz with my FSB @225?

You can change it but you can have it set to be in sync.

You need to use ratios to get that but you should be able to run your ram at ~ 166 with the FSB at ~225 (if your motherboard will go that high). I get a little confused with the dividers so I won't explain em' to ya just in case I switch stuff around (lol for some reason that confuses me lol, I swear I'm not dumb though), but your manual explains it so you just gotta figure out what ratio gives you the closest to desired resutls.

the closest setting to what you want is probably the 4:3 CPU:RAM divider.

with FSB at 225, that setting would give you RAM speed of 169Mhz.

that divider can be seen in this picture:

(note that in that picture they have 3:3 selected, and that's not what you want. you want 4:3 a few places lower)

that comes from digital daily, they have a review of the NF7-S which you might be interested in reading: http://www.digital-daily.com/motherboard/abit-nf7s/
