Just got my new system up and running. ( Details below i hope! ). I'm trying to overclock my fx5900U. I can clock the core up to 530 with no loss of stability, but when it comes to overclocking the memory i'm having problems!

Don't know how familiar you guys are with the MSI drivers, but i get an option in display properties to overclock and every time I try to crank up the RAMDAC speed it says 'The clock adjust failed - Clock will recover to old value' It also does it if i try and turn it down as well! I'm thinking that i need to adjust the settings somewhere else ( IE not in windows ). Any ideas?

I am also unable to turn on side band addressing! What's up with that? Is there something i need to do in my BIOS?

I doubt cooling is an issue, i have Coolermaster Aero 7 for CPU and 2 Case turbines ( also coolermaster ) and numerous other 80mm case fans!

Cheers Guys

If a little confused....

Are you having problems overclocking your memory, or are you trying to overclock the video card's RAMDAC (which is pointless)

I'm trying to overclock the memory on the video card! ( Why is is pointless? If it is pointless, why are so many other people doing it? )

The RAMDAC is a totaly different thing then the memory ;)

RAMDAC stands for Random Access Memory Digital-to-Analog Converter :)

Thats why i was confused

I didn't even know it was possible to change your RAMDAC. Hehe.
