I was wondering what sort of o/c you could get with the stock heatsink and fan. I know there are many other variables such as ambient temp, type of case, etc etc. But what (on average), would you expect to get the 2500 to?

dont even try it...i havent owned a barton 2500 myself, but even using the stock hsf would make ur cpu real hot, like around the 40's celcius....go with a thermalright copper cooling solutions

hmmm, bought oem myself and used a copper HSF from my 1600+.....temps were higher than i felt safe (around 53~C average) so i bought an slk 900A and no probs now overclocking @ 182 fsb/2.01Ghz.........stock - don't know that i would feel good but only the temps are going to tell you the real truth....your system is going to be different from almost everyone elses.......what mobo do you have, that'll certainly make a difference - i have a kt333 chipset but if i had a kt400, it would have the 1/6 divider i need to hit 200 X 11 for 2.2Ghz on air-cooling...............
