I am sooooo happy! I just tried to get 1007 out of my duron 750, and it worked! Before i used to get restarted about every 20mins. Right now, it is running seti@home, and quake3 is hosting with 12 bots all on nightmare mode. 1hour+ perfectly stable.

Now of course i am very greedy, and i now want to hitt 1012, (156fsb X 6.5) I know for sure it isn;t my ram, because my ram can handle up to 162fsb stable @ CAS2.5.

I know temps are definetly an issue, because i am loading @ around 46C and idleing @ 42C. Gotta Love those Deltas!

What can i do?

I believe you might have hit the wall. If that's the case you have 2 options: doing a voltage mod to get more voltage or going to more aggressive cooling, such as water. If doing the voltage mod, I'd definitely go with watercooling at the same time, a HSF will not do the job well enough.

Hey carmine...why not try the same speed but with a lower FSB. Like 7.5x135. Chances are...you've got a better chance at 1012 if you keep things closer to spec. Your overclocking the Via Chipset and not just your RAM so you have to take that into consideration.

My duron 750 will do 1037 but it's too darn warm right now so I'm settling for 7.5x133. Ya know....257MHz over stock speed ain't anything to scoff at either...you could just be at the limits of your chip...or cooling setup as well. Good luck

I definetly want to get a new heatsink, probably the SVC Golden Gate. For the Voltage mod, i didn't know that there was one for a A7A266. I was directed to this website that had one for many boards, and if yours wasn't there, then he would find it for you. I really wouldn't like to solder stuff to my week old motherboard. Is there something i can do to the bios? For me to get 1.888vcore, i had to color in the l7 bridges.

Watercooling : Looks like too much of a hassle. Plus there is the chance of a leak, which completely scares me. Being only 15, i would like to save most of my money and put it towards my car.

I am hoping to get a Acura RSX type S, put new rims, a spoiler, 2 pipes, with turbos, and some NOS.

Hey WillysNut, My chipset has proven to be stable @ 163fsb (haven't tried more). I will try that tho!

What voltage did you run @ to get your duron that high? I can post up to 1060 @ 1.888v. I wish i could select up to 2v! That would be soooo great.

by lowering your fsb like that you may be getting a higher overclock but you are lowering your performance considerably. That means that you would lower the speed of all of your pci cards and ram. So if you just want the best overclock you can take your 5 Mhz, but I dont see why you wouldnt want to have the performance instead.

*edit* Also the Golden Gate is a great hsf at a low price but if you want to do something like 2 - 2.2 volts then you are gonna have to have water cooling. It really isnt that much trouble, a simple water cooling setup can be done in a couple of hours for as little as $100.

1.85v...on a very cool morning in May w/ Air cooling! I think I ended up with a really good chip. Waitin' for fall to get here to see what it can really do.

AHHHHGRRRGHHHH....A/C RULES!
