Hep me, hep me!

My Duron 700 is currently OC'ed to about 800. I did this by changing the FSB/PCI to 112/37 (I think) on my Abit KT7E, and adding 15 to the FSB, for a total of (112*7.0)+15=799 MHz. That's about the limit I can get to without failing the POST, but that's another story.

I'd like to OC it by changing the multiplier, but no matter what I set in Bios, it's totally ignored, and boots at 7.0. Every other change I make (FSB/PCI or FSB add) works just fine, but I can't change the multiplier!

Yes, of course the processor is unlocked...I wouldn't be asking this question otherwise. I used a thin piece of wire to dab defogger paint directly on the contacts. The paint covers both contacts of each bridge, and no two adjacent bridges are connected. So what's the deal? Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks!

I'd get a magnifying glass and make totally sure those bridges are done, and done well at that.

yea, take a good look at the bridges, it took me about 5 tries to unlock a 1 gig t-bird, even though they looked good each time....

good luck

You guys were right. I looked at the bridges through a magnifying glass and couldn't see anything wrong with them. But just for laughs I acetoned them and did them over again with the defogger paint. The third time was a charm...worked great. Now I have to start a new thread about the operating system problem...

Thanks!
