u could cut up an old socket 370 cooler and glue it on or something...that should be better than the stock stuff that comes w/ the asus boards these days...but why do u need a better chipset cooler...asus stock hs on nb is sufficient

Yeah, the stock hs is pretty good. I have the P4P800 Deluxe and just hot glued a 40mm fan on it. You do need better cooling if you go over 250fsb and the 40mm fan is fine for me.

Putting a 40mm fan is the easiest option, you can explore using a NorthPole, Swiftech 159P or a Thermaltake A1163 TIGER 1
My suggestion is for the Swiftech MCX 159p Here (http://www.maxcooler.com/noname50.html), but unfortunately that is the most expensive option of the 4 :(
I like the zalman passives....or the new swiftech ones.
Underload w/ a kt400 chipset and the zalman passive ill get temps of around 35ºC and ontop of that I have a WARM room temp due to the fact that my rig puts out a lot of heat. With a 80mm fan blowing on it ill hit load temps of around 31-32ºC.

MB temps is the temp of the motherboard (almost the ambient temp), not the northbridge

Any hard evidence that over 250mhz you'll need a fan on the Asus nb?

Nope :p
I've heard that over 1000fsb, you should have the nb actively cooled though. My hs was pretty hot before I installed the 40mm fan.
ACIDBURN - I just used a hot glue gun that you get anywhere for like 5 bucks.

I did it the scientific way... my highly calibrated index finger :D.
Before the fan, I couldn't keep my finger on the hs for more than a split second. Now it's fairly cool to the touch.
