View Full Version : Any tips for a 750 duron??
Any tips would be great. I'm looking for ideas on a safe speed and temp to be running at. I'm at 802 and 40C now and am getting kinda chicken on how far to press my luck :)
Thanks in advance for the help.

You have the right idea keeping an eye on the temps. I have a Duron 700 at 1016. You may have to raise the voltage to get much higher than 850, but remember more voltage = more heat. Go slowly and keep an eye on the temps. Download a copy of Sanda, or Folding at home and let it run-watching the temps. If you are only checking your temps at idle, you may be in for a surprise when you play your favorite game. Overclock it slowly and know what your idle and loaded temps are. If you run into stability problems, you will either have to raise the voltage or take your overclock down a bit. Goodluck..
Hopefully you get a better Duron then the one I have. I had to cool it to -21 degrees with 2.3 volts to get it to top 1 gig!
I think the older durons were actually better. I just use the Duron as a test cpu so it doesn't really mater to me if it OC's that much.

Well, we need more info about your system, like mobo, cooler, ambient temp, etc...
Did ya unlocked your Duron? Are u trying to o/c it just by fsb? Did ya rised the voltage?
Answer this questions, and we could help u...
my tip is to sell it! 900 should be fine but the wall is around 950 but your results will vary.

something abt the above post : not everyone is so rich like you....and not everyone have that much money to spend anywayz....so i think he should just do with what he has at the moment...thats my opinion
now abt this topic,
i think 40C is still ok since my comp is runnin at 43C at the moment o/ced from 750 to 990 the max temp for a duron to live is 90C but of course it wont live long up there, i think u should start to worry at 60C and what you need is a good hs/f to cool down the chip
