Just received this CPU today.. Curious what you guys think about it?

Also how can I tell what the stepping is?

I'm guessing this is 2003 week 30?

it is the D1 stepping. should be pretty good. SL6WT is the newest stepping of the 2.8

I am just in the process of setting up my system based on the SL6WT 2.8. It is currently at 3.3GHz with default vcore and stock cooler. I'll be fitting the waterblocks over the weekend and then I'll try higher.

*B wonders what that chip might do in the rig I'm planning....Abit IC7 mounted in a Vapochill PE*

I don't think my Corsair XMS PC3200C2 will be up to task to go too far, but it'll be interesting to see just how far it does go....

The IC7 is in route from newegg....now I just need to find the CPU. Looks like these HT D1's are the way to go, eh?

yes I have one of those L321B281 SL6WT

being running steady for over a month now @3598

my box is heavily used, I am running Gentoo and do a lot of

compiling, also mprime is running in the background.

I have had no stability problems so far. You may be able to do better,

but, for me, that is good enough.

I just sold a Vapo PE with an early 2.8C on the IC7G. It ran nicely at 3710MHz with 1.7V. That system was running with Corsair XMS3200LL with a 5:4 ratio and it screamed. By adding the Vapo, I only gained ~200MHz over using water but the Vapo put out a lot of heat....my room was extremely hot 24/7.
