Hi,
I got an old AcerNote Light 350PCX, and the damn thing won't post (won't boot at all). It powers on and the hardrive starts and clicks a little, but thats it. Nothing ever shows up on the screen. I replaced the memory, and same thing. How can I reset it?
Note: I even tried booting without the CPU inside the comp, and same thing happens!
Please help,
Thanks

OMG SOmebody please f..ing post! this forum is pathetic, the intel/amd split cause so much less people to see the posts and it takes days to answer a damn post. I know, because once i posted both in general cpu and in specific, and in general it got answered extrememly fast.
ARRRGGHHHH
Shot in the dark since they've discontinued this model and unable to even get a diagram talk about a schematic but, does it use a watch battery for the cmos, if so try replacing it? The one thing the website did say was when replacing memory to run tsdk(?)
I'd start with trying to determine if you can clear the cmos and whether it needs a fresh battery as was already mentioned.
Not all that much you can do...most likely unless you take the whole thing apart and spend hours replacing parts...basically its not worth. Try clearing cmos if possible, like was said above, or try different ram. Try booting without the hard drive and other drives being plugged in. Good luck!
Please don't knock the forums. This place is great...just be patient. Help will come.

Chill out. Less than 1-1/2 hours go by and you start ragging on the forum. Perhaps some of us have a life. Go to bed and check in the morning to see if anyone posted.
You'll never get a computer to post without a CPU, what are you thinking? Pull the CMOS battery out for a couple minutes and replace it. That should clear the BIOS. I doubt that's the problem though, unless you screwed with the BIOS.

Hi guys,...sorry i was ****ed. I FOUND THE PROBLEM!
The socket wasn't pushed into the locked position!~!! u know how the cpu goes into the socket, and then the socket gets pushed into place... now theres another problem. when i push the socket empty, it goes into the locked position, when i have the cpu in however, it moves a little but not all the way. ARRRGHHH , could it be the pins aren't straight?
Please help,
Thanks
