video card fans supposed to be loud?

i was messing around in my case and i unplugged all my fans to see how loud my video card fan was, cuz it used to make a grinding noise till i oiled it. now it's just a buzz not too loud but noticeable, its constant too. is it cuz it's a smaller fan or should i think a bout a replacement?

Those tiny little vid card fans usually always make some kind of a hum just becasue they are so tiny. It shouldn't be too loud though. If your not sure and it's an expensive card you might want to replace it to be sure. You don't want the fan to die while you are gaming and fry the card!

yea a new GPU fan/heatsink is like $10

Yeah, just replace it.

I've seen cases where they fail or start making progressivly worse noise, and its not pretty. Now is the time to address the problem.
