Heya,

I am thinking about setting up a dualboot with Win98SE and
RedHat Linux. Got 98 installed on my C: drive currently, and
have a spare IBM60gb drive in the machine now with no
partitions on it waiting for Linux.

Currently have HT disabled in the BIOS since W98 dont like
that at all...:p

Question is would it be worth it to be hitting the bios to
enable/disable HT when switching OS's, or will linux run
plenty fast enough on this system without HT ?

Has anybody tried anything like this ?

(ya ya ya, 'Get XP'... Keep those posts to yourselfs as I
loathe XP and wont be installing that.....)

Thanks

screw XP, get W2K :D

I'd say sure, turn it on when you boot Linux. Only takes a few seconds to dip into the BIOS and make a change. But if you forget and leave it off, it can't be that big of a deal.

I tried it once, and it was very unstable. Explorer and other
programs would crash left and right. Sometimes it would
boot into windows, and sometimes not. Corrupted a bunch
of system files and I had to put a backup copy of the windows
directory back....
