Earlier today I unticked the quick launch bar by accident, when I put it back it no longer sits next to the start button. It refuses to move any closer than about 2 inches away from it and won't let me move it any further.

It is annyoying the hell out of me, please help.

Thanks

right click on taskbar and choose "property"

and uncheck "lock the taskbar". Now you move it :)

Diddn't work.
Running 2k no option to unlobck the taskbar. I can move it along the "bottom bar" but not right up to the start button.

I know it's really stupid but is annoying the hell out of me!

Thanks powerme for the response.

nothing there to move, just the start menu and then towards the other end the system tray where this toolbar is currently sitting.

It won't let me post the attachment of the image so I can't "show" you.

Thanks

ok.. your open programs open up on the left side of your quicklaunch???

if so, then take the little tab right beside the start button... its almost hard to see... its there... move that to the right side of the screen, and it will work...

(i'm sittin on 2k right now and i just did this)

not working for me, i can see the one you mean, but it is not moving. I even tried closing down the quick launch bar first.. do I need to close all windows then try it?

i can move it without closing any windows... i grab the little tab thingy (between the start button and the first open window) then i drag it to the right... but it doesn't move until i hit the systray with my mouse..
if that doesn't help... reformat... ;)

YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!

Thank you very much. A stupid little annoyance but now solved!

Thanks again :)

as you can tell, no re-format required! (makes a change for m$)

not sure about that, lot of stuff to back up first. Although I am looking a getting a 250GB external drive next week from work so could be fun.
