When i am buring something, wheter it be Linux ISOs or music i usualy get some SCSI error while burned and my CD gets ruined. This happens no matter what speed i am using. I have trying using speeds from 4x-12x and all have gotten me this error.

I have a Lite-On 48x12x48x CR-RW drive. It came in a Sony CR-RW box though. I bought it at a comp show for $55. Anyway, i am using Nero 5.5.8 which came bundled with the drive to burn things. Do you think Nero is the problem or is it the drive?

could it be that there's something wrong with your cable?

Try doing a Nero update. I had the same problem, and an update took care of it.

Also, are your CDRW and hard drive on the same IDE channel? That can sometimes cause trouble.

Check your memory buffer also, brother was having problems along the same lines and increased amount of buffer solved the problem.

Fixed the problem, i jsut updated to Nero 6. I was previously on Nero 5.5.0.8 and it thought my CD-RW drive was an SCSI drive and thats why i was getting an SCSI error. In Nero 6 it now recognizes it is an IDE drive so it burns fine now.
