This may sounds stupid guys but i never plugged in the ATX12V1 (4 pin) in the rig i sold to my friend and i was able to get it stable(2 instances of prime95) to 3.3ghz.
I only just recently found out you had to after building a rig for a friend using a ASUS mobo that required it to be plugged in or it wouldn't boot. I never knew this since my previous comp was a P3.
Anyways what i want to know is, would plugging that in given me more headroom or stability for overclocking? I wish i would've found out b4 i sold my rig so i could've tried it for myself. I've done some search but couldn't get a clear answer to this quesiton.
