I have a MSI G4TI4200 4X AGP (one of the old ones).

I would like to know if it can be converted to 8X

Does anyone know of a way to modified a card to change the AGP speeds. Does it need a new GPU?
I would like to know if anyone knows about any hardware chances or software that may help.

Nope, it cant. 8x AGP has to do with the traces on the PCB, so unless you can get the specs for it, and have a very steady hand at soldering in traces on a multilayered PCB, its not gonna happen :p

The differences between 4x AGP and 8x AGP are negligable anyways. Even if you could do it, it would just be a waste of time. AGP bandwidth comes into play extremely rarely

Thanks man, I had no idea the PCBs on the video cards are multilayered.
So the modification is posible if you can get to the embeded traces in the board that you need to modified. (Providing you get the right specs to do it.) Thanks
