i'm using a glaciator right now and my temps are hitting 50 C at full load. i know it is not my case cuz right now, i have my case open, which means maximum air ventilation. why is this happenning? i'm using artic silver II also right now by the way. by the way, how do you take off the glaciator. that thing was the toughest thing i've ever had to put on my mb, but it's even harder to take it off....well, if you can help, thank you

oh by the way, i might have put on too much artic silver, but i heard that it doesn't really matter cuz glaciator would probably squishout any excess asII to the side.

you must be doing something wrong because that heatsink is one of the easyest coolers to put on and remove
take it apart again and kmake sure its sitting right
and see if that helps if not send it back and have them replace it because its not right
Azz is right, the Glaciator is the easiest hs i'v ever used, much better then the PAL 6035 I had before. Make sure you have it seated right on the chip.I was running high temps with the side off and a fan blowing thru,I bought 2 105mm 65CFM fans from RS and mounted one in front of the mb blowing in and the other at the top exhausting at full load im running at 43C according to MBM5,before that I was hitting 50+.

First off, this should have been posted in the Cooling section.
My friend has the Glaciator and he said it was almost as easy as my Vantec FCE62540D.

My glaciator was easy to install and works well. I noticed the first time I put it on it wasn't all that great an improvement. I gave it a little twist back and forth and poof it worked better. Must not have been seated well. Food for thought.
a little twist, eh?...
my glaciator was hard to put on because of my Asus board (the annoying capacitor in the way)..anyway..I'm gett'n high temps too, but I wasn't sure if that was normal (i live in a hot area)
my temps with the 1004 bios are gett'n up to 64C, so I take 10C off for the software, and still have 54C..but my ambient (also room temp, all sides are removed with a personal fan blowing into the case) is about 30C..I was waiting until wintnter to oc it..but if giving the glac a little "twist?" will/could help....

Too much Artic Silver can cause it to be squished out and possibly contact the bridges and cause a short, all you need is a thin film of it. Twisting the H/S cannot be good in my book, it may of worked once, but the next time it might not. My Glaciator was as easy as my Vantec to install and under FULL-LOAD I run at 40c max.
