Hi

Posted a similar question in the storage section, but figured one of you guys might have already done this and have the answer...

I am about to move from an Asus P4G8X motherboard (with the Sil3112A Controller)... to the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard, with two types of controllers available as I understand it.

As I am new to RAID, I figured I better check it out before I stuff it up!

I have two 120's running in SATA RAID0 purely for storing DV stuff on. There is like 200Gb of footage stored and I do not want to lose it. (The O/S is and will remain on one of two 80Gb drives on the ide connectors)

QUESTION... will I have any problems hanging onto my stored footage??? AND... will I have to use a particular controller on the new board, or is RAID0 simply RAID0 irrespective of what board it is on??

Any pearls of wisdom, or experience/advice would be much appreciated.
