Question,

Do I need to flash the bios of this Built by ATI 9800Pro in order to overclock? or Do I just need to use a program like Radclocker, powerstrip, rage3d, etc. and then just raise the core and mem slowly from there.

Is it that simply or do I need to flash to another bios?

A friend of mine is trying to overclock his BBA 9800Pro and I don't pretty much know anything about BBA 9800Pro. Unlike my sapphire 9500np, I did not have to flash the bios to overclock it. I just use Radclocker to tune up the core and mem.

Anyone have any input on this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I use Rage3D Tweak (www.rage3d.com/r3dtweak/)

Rage3D Tweak is a Radeon Tweaker designed to fit right in with the other ATI option tabs in the Advanced Display Properties accessed through the Control Panel. It allows access to Registry Tweak options, Custom Display Modes, Refresh Rates, and Overclocking all through an easy to use interface. For those requiring instant access to all the tweak options, a handy icon on the task bar can be enabled for quick access to all three tweaker tabs. Comprehensive html, outline based help is available through the standard "?" icon in the display tabs and the help button.

Thanks, but can I just use rage3d tweak and don't mess with the bios. Does rage3d tweak let me overclock it without flashing to another bios?

If you have a BBA r9800Pro then there's no need to flash the bios, just download and install the program (3DRage Tweak). When raising the core and mem, be sure not to go to high at first. I have mine running extremely stable at 430 C/351 M right now.

Thank you. I'll pass this on over to a friend of mine that is not a member of this forum. Once again thank you for all your help.
