Just wondering why some people have a really hard time OCing Durons? Last night I pulled out a piece of solder rubbed it up and down on my L1's a few times looked close to check for any shorts across the bridges, popped it back into the socket. I then slapped on my complementary HSF (A cooler masters model.........came with the cpu) and turned it on.......... booted up.......... went into the bios, changed the multiplier from 8 to 10 uped the voltage from 1.5 to 1.8 saved and restarted and it booted fine......... temps went from 45 not OCed to 55 OCed.

Duron 800 @ 1000
Idle 55 Load 63
MSI K7T Turbo Motherboard
256mb PC133 generic ram
gainward geforce2 32mb video card OCed as well
*Core clock 265mhz
*Memory clock 400mhz

Happy Overclocking

The people who I am aware of that have had problems with Durons only have had either trouble unlocking the CPU or temprature problems. I never had any problems with my Duron 800 which now runs @ 1050. ( CPU temp on load @ 42 c and System temp on load @ 24 c ).
I personally would consider that I had a problem if I was running tempratures such as yours, so perhaps its all down to our own definition as to what a problem is.

Processor failure is at 90 and I dont run my system longer than 10 15 hours at a time. I am going to build a "Bong" water cooler for it later (thinking of multiple towers).
