I got a green pcb OEM (came in AMD branded plastic holder thing) 1.6 ghz duron from a random vendor at a computer show. Its code is dhd1600dlv1c and stepping mirga 0337vpmw. What do I have? What is the overclocking possibity (looks like a tbred-B core)?

From bridge reading the sucker has a 12x multi (hard coded) but seems bios-changable (L1 intact) and runs on 133 according to L12 and has some bridge blasted L2 cache by L2 and uses 1.5v according to L11. It also has those newer funky bridges with that thick plastic. I am thinking of hardcoding the multiplier higher to 16.5x or 16x. I did some of the electric bridge blasting before on the Bartons sucessfully (sewing neddles soldered to PC PS). Is it the same procedure for the thick plastic cpus?

Are you sure thats an A core? How do you know? My duron 1.4 was a B core. It has to be as its at 2.1 ghz. 50% overclock.

MIRG"A".. unless im like totally way off. thats an "A" core. applebred is based off tbred, so they should be using similar stepping codes.

overclock it bulk, and tell us your results

Big overclock or not, look here (http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/display/20030908004407.html). Get more cache for your cash.

It is a ****ing TbredA. 1845mhz, 1600mhz stock. Next time, don't trust the PCB as a way of telling if it is or isn't a tbredb.

I think it is like folding in that it tries to crack codes for the purpose of making better ones. Nothing bad going on there.
