too high for my liking.mine is 34-39c idleing depending on the weather and under load it can reach as high as 47-48 but im using a stock hsf with arctic silver.

Oh man - there is a lot you can do! Should be 30-35C at a room temp of 17C

Solution: Big(120mm) fan blowing down on the cpu from the top of your case and an exhaust fan to get rid of the hot air. Tidy up your cables(airflow restrictors) and keep the dust in your case at bay. The more air you pass over the heatsink the better
My next project is using a 120mm fan on the side of the case blowing through a tapered duct onto the heatsink (no heatsink fan). The airflow is speeded up and is all blown over the heatsink, with ther fans extracting from the front and back.

ya ya do have to usually cut holes in the case- just trace a CD they are 118mm so its almost an exact fit for a 120mm fan. then just drill 4 small holes and line the fan up wiht then and slap a fan guard on it- make the one on the top suck and put on in the bottom side- create a duct where the bottom fan blows the top fan sux and the hs is in the duct in the middle. That should help alot-definaly try to clean uyp cables with either self rounding the IDE cables and use zip ites on ann connectors no used at the moment

DONT put a fan at the top blowing down, hot air rises and youll just be battling the flow of hot air trying to go up- like salmon swinning upstream- just make the one at the top suck out to help the natural flow of air and help it out with the bottom fan making it move out faster.

That's a cool tip. First day looking over your threads and I've already learned something.

My setup works good, I've tried pushing it many times by playing UT and Tribes2 for like three hours. I can't seem to get it over 53 under load. Hmm...I guess I'll hafta try harder next time, and then find a way to bring it back down again :)

I have the 1.2 at 1.43,,Max loaded temp 45c.

idle temp 29c

For my system at 53c it hangs,I had the alpha pal 6035 and it had no chance of cooling this processor at my current settings.I was clocked to 10x133 with the pal cause that is all she could do and stay at 51 to 53c

I bought the SK6,with the Delta 38cfm fan and I can run as long as I want at 1.43 and stay at 45c.Matter of fact the temp moniter as I watch it goes 44c,,,45c,,,44c,,45c back and forth so I guess an accurate reading is like 44.5c.
