Has anyone heard anything about AMD releasing the 1.5-1.7? I heard news today through distribution but have not been able to confirm this yet. I thought that AMD was going to stop at 1.4 and release the Pamelino? Maybe they have changed their roadmap again.

I checked AMD and saw nothing about the 1g durons. They may be out for OEMs but not for retail. Anyone know for sure?

AMD said they would make a 1.53GHz model of T-bird, but AMD's 1.53GHz will put out 58c temperature with standard Athlon t-bird hsf. This will greatly decrease the value of life of the chip seeing since HP and other majoy corps use AMD's supplied HSF. Palomino will take over quick.

1.67GHz will be the fastest and last processor from AMD for 2001.

yeah I saw that their goining to realse a 1.7ghz athlon chip head to athlonoc (http://www.athlonoc.com) the news is a few days old. amd is going to have a herd time colooling a 1.7ghz t-bird. they'll probably have to use a diff. hs w/ the retail boxed cpu's.

58C wow! could they put on better heatsinks them? I think that deltas are out of the question but what about a big ass 80mm on a large hs.

They could do that, but remember that amd has too put cheap hs in there boxed cpu's or else the price will go way up.
