I bought a duron 800 and a msi 6330 lite (lack of money) and i put it all togheter and it seemed to work fine,i didnt even try and overclock it ;D then all of a sudden the whole crap froze while i was in windows ;( and this keeps repeating when i start certain programs like winamp and when i try and install a game........its really annoying........

anyone has a little wisdom to share? btw the temp is about 40 for the cpu and 30-35 for the system so it shouldnt be the temp......

I have heard about compatibility problems with winamp, but the others I don't know. When was the last time you formatted your harddrive?

i do not own that MOBO but i did have the same problem with my MOBO...update ALL drivers for your MOBO then check your stability...also make sure your power settings in your bios match your windows settings....or just shut off power management in your bios (saved me a lot of headaches)

What version of windows are you using. My friend had problems with ME and his SoundBlaster Live! and MOBO together. Dunno why, mabey certain combonations, but back to your situation. If you can try installing a different version of windows...Like ME. I really like ME and have never had ANY problems with it. If that doesn't work and you can shell out 40 bucks get a Sound Blaster Live Value! It is the best thing i have ever bought for my computer for the price.

Have you tried puting your sound card in a different PCI slot ? Sometimes that stupid trick works, don't know why, it just does. On my system if I put my sound card below my agp card it gets all messed up, but when I move it down one more slot it works fine. Give it a try.

Just to make sure, Are you using the newest drivers for your sound card ? That may also make a difference, try the newest drivers, you may have to download them off the internet.
