Quiet Coolness faq.

Alright people, this is something most of us could use.
I'd like all the veterans to reply with their tried and trusted ways to get that 15 fan case dB monster quiet(er).
But also the new people (like myself) to post their ideas and suggestions here.
Maybe if I get enough input I can put together a quiet cooling faq sort of thing for us all to benefit from.

So everybody please post your quiet hints and tips below.

I'll start myself with a few rather obvious things.


[#]Watercool the cpu, takes some time and skill but well worth it.
[#]Instead of bolting the fans directly to the case/hsf use silicone to make "padded feet" for the fan, and use electrical tape or equavilent to skirt the gap.
[#]run fans on 7 volts instead of 12.
