It's about Christmas time again and I'm in the market for a nice, but inexpensive USP. I would like to get something with:
§ About 6 outlets
§ Phone in/Phone out protection
§ Lightning AND Surge protection/warrenty
§ Small backup battery ~20 minutes+
I have seen several APC's with these sort of options, but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them or any other brands. I have no idea what I'm really looking for outside the things listed above. PC-wise I'm using a Fortron 350W PSU, 2 HDDs, 2 CD drives, AMD 2400+.

If somone could perhaps reccommend a specific model under $100 USD, with most or all of the above listed items, that would be great!

Belkin, SmartPower, Triplitte all have 500-600VA *275-350 Watts handling power* UPS under $100 at tigerdirect.com *not the best place but you can look at the specs and find them at a diff store*

I'm sure you meant to say "Christmas UPS".
You can't wrong with any APC Products. I have a Backup 350 and 500 and they have a decent time for back ups. About 5mins for the 350.

APC's are the standard... but I have a Belkin 1200va. It's a great unit, and much cheaper than APC's comparable model.

APC is just a tad pricey for my blood.

One thing to keep in mind that I wish I would have known when I bought mine a while back:

Make sure it has a siren disable on it. My smaller one does so it just clicks back and forth silently but my larger one beeps every time there is a flicker and the whole time its on battery. In a place like FL where power flashes alot not even enough to dim the bulbs this is VERY LOUD and VERY annoying! It's loud enough to wake me up from across the house for example.

But for brand I like APC, except for the siren on the one both of mine are very reliable.
