I was checking it out today and some of these are just bs! Like a k6-2 266 @ 2ghz! come on! Also a 1.4ghz @ 1988 w/the code axia. arn't all 1.4's ahyja? just thought I might share my thoughts, The database isn't very usefull if half of them are B.S.

This topic has been brought up many times. I figure that you can tell the ones that require a tall pair of boots to read. Even the novice O/C'er can tell the BS from the real McCoy.

It sounds as though the ones you've mentioned are probably false. I think something like that is hard to avoid. I didn't catch the earlier posts but I wouldn't be suprised if the site moderators edit the post's as they see fit from time to time.
It's kinda stinks that a few bad apples have to spoil the batch but that's how it goes sometimes. I think it's also been stated that it's important to note the cooling and temps your running in the "notes" section of the entry. This will allow others to see trends in cooling setups and chip types and weed out the false entries. :)
It would be cool if we could update our own stats in the database. If we were able to put more info about our setup then it would be much easier to tell if it were false.

The D-base is a guide and you can see BS of course but it would be nice we could throw in our stats in it. Who knows maybe sometime in the future.

Take the real high ones with a grain of salt...OK, maybe a heapful ;) . Look to the middle ground (i.e: where most people are posting their numbers). Just like in life, most people are honest, but others...well.
Unless someone's using extreme measures (liquid nitrogen, vapo-chill, peltier setups) those extremes are NOT to be taken seriously. Additionally, older CPU's just don't have a fast enough cache speed to allow for serious OC results.

It is sort of like the Olympic Ice Skating, toss out the high and low scores, then do an average.
I agree that some of the stats are totally bullpuck, but some of those are for real.
