Sorry that I've got 3 posts now in the same general vicinity but I'm considering getting the dual pack of hyperX pc3000's at newegg. So is it safe to assume they are all 2.5v? or have people seen 2.6? I ask because my board only does 2.7 and I need lowest default voltage I can get.

Not sure on pc3000's, I've had both on the pc3500's(2.5 & 2.6), I think the 2.6's are the bh5 chips.

The rated voltage means as much as the rated speed. Not exactly nothing, but not much.

Memory labeled 2.5V or 2.6V are usually intended for same voltage. If you want more voltage out of your motherboard, you can always Volt-Mod it. Guides are usually found online.

i'm figuring the lower rated voltage will make a difference kinda like 1700 dlt3c's vs. dut3c's. I have a stick of hyperx 3200 2.5v default and it runs really well but had a stick of 3200 2.6 that did terribly

That is because they use differant DRAM chips. 2.5V are the NON-A and use BH-5, while the 2.6V are A-revision and use CH-5.
